FIRST TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING

European Partners Gather in Beja for the First Transnational Project Meeting of the EU-Funded DIGNITY Project

On May 7–8, 2026, the School of Management and Technology at the Polytechnic University of Beja (IPBeja) hosted the first face-to-face Transnational Project Meeting (Meeting n°3, Year 1) of the EU-funded DIGNITY project (Enhancing Domiciliary Palliative Care through European Vocational Education and Training Excellence).

Co-funded under the Erasmus+ Forward-Looking Projects action, the 30-month DIGNITY project aims to design and implement a standardized, transnational Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification in home-based palliative care. By aligning with European credit and qualification frameworks (EQF/ECVET), the initiative directly addresses workforce shortages, fragmented training standards, and cross-border mobility barriers for healthcare professionals across the EU.

Key Discussions and Strategic Milestones

Over the two-day meeting, consortium members engaged in intensive planning sessions covering research, curriculum design, quality assurance, and communication strategies:

  • Project Governance & Quality Assurance: IPBeja led discussions on the overall project roadmap, risk assessment, and financial management, while INOVA+ presented the Quality Assurance and Evaluation Strategy.

  • Research & Gap Analysis: INOVA+ presented initial findings on mapping existing technical profiles, national training offers, and sectoral skill gaps across partner countries.

  • Dissemination & Outreach: Communication partner CARDET outlined the project’s dissemination strategy, including social media outreach, web platforms, and public engagement.

  • Field Immersion: Attendees participated in an immersive site visit to a local continuing and palliative care unit hosted by IPBeja, bridging academic design with real-world clinical care environments.
